Grips

Recoil control starts with how the gun sits in your hand. A replacement grip changes three things: the texture under your fingers, the thickness of the frame and the shape against your palm.

Why shooters change grips

  • More friction - a textured surface keeps your hand in place when it gets sweaty and the gun recoils, so the sights come back faster.
  • A repeatable hand position - a contoured grip guides your hand to the same spot on every draw and after every reload.
  • Better trigger reach - a thinner grip shortens the distance to the trigger, which helps smaller hands.
  • Less fatigue - a palm swell spreads pressure and reduces hot spots over long sessions.

The grip types

3D and X3D. Contoured polymer grips with a palm swell. They fill the hand and keep grip pressure even through the recoil. Some come in slim and thick versions, so you choose the circumference.

Vibram. Thin, rigid aluminium panels with a machined Vibram traction surface. They make the grip slimmer for easier trigger reach, and metal does not swell or flex with oil or solvents.

Track. Polymer grips with a textured track surface. The wraparound version covers the whole grip and spreads pressure across the hand. They stay slim and work with standard holsters.

High-grip. Machined aluminium grips with a high-friction surface, for Tanfoglio large frame models.

Adhesive. A thin abrasive film that sticks onto the factory grip. No disassembly, no gunsmith, and you can peel it off again. A good choice for polymer pistols with no removable panels.

Long, short or with a magwell

On the 1911 our grips come long and short, and in versions matched to our 1911 magwells: a magwell is made for either Vibram or X3D grips. There is also a one-piece polymer 1911 grip with an integrated magwell. If you plan to add a magwell later, choose a grip that works with it from the start. See Magwells.

Find your gun

Grips are made for one frame, so pick by brand and model. On the Beretta 92 family, the 92FS Compact, the 98 Steel, the M9A3, M9A4 and 92X Full Size, and the 92X Performance and Defensive each take their own grips.

Brands: Grips for 1911, Grips for Beretta, Grips for Canik, Grips for Glock, Grips for HK, Grips for HS Produkt, Grips for Phoenix, Grips for Sig, Grips for Springfield, Grips for Tanfoglio, Grips for Walther.

Fitting

Panel grips are screwed to the frame with the grip screws, so you swap them with a screwdriver. Adhesive grips need a clean, dry surface before you press them on. Wraparound grips slide over the frame.

Maker

All our grips are made in Italy by Toni System, which also makes the matching magwells and base pads. That makes it easy to build a grip, magwell and pad set that fits together.

Frequently asked questions

Thin or thick grips?

Thin grips help if you struggle to reach the trigger. Thick or palm-swell grips fill a larger hand and spread recoil. If you can, try a friend's gun first.

Do adhesive grips damage the frame?

No. They bond to the surface and peel off again without permanent change.

Can I combine new grips with a magwell?

Yes, if you choose a matching pair. On the 1911 each magwell is made for Vibram or X3D grips, and there is a grip with an integrated magwell.

Will new grips fit my holster?

Panel grips change only the sides of the grip, and the Track grips are designed to work with standard holsters.
